The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, September 10, 2025 – The Department of Commerce & Management has successfully concluded a month-long add-on certificate course on “Tally Prime Mastery,” aimed at equipping final-year students with industry-ready accounting skills.
Course Details:
The intensive program, which ran from July 21 to September 10, 2025, was designed specifically for third-year Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students. The course focused on bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry requirements in computerized accounting.
The curriculum covered essential modules for modern accounting practices, including Company Creation and Configuration, Ledger Management, Voucher Entry, GST Implementation, Inventory Management and Financial Reporting.
To ensure quality outcomes, the course trainer, Mr. Ngawang Tenzin, Head of the C&M Department, along with lecturers Ms. Karma Choeying Palmo and Mrs. Dawa Tsamchoe, implemented strict certification criteria. Students were required to maintain a minimum attendance of 85% and pass a comprehensive practical examination assessing their hands-on proficiency in the software. Out of the 15 enrolled students, 10 successfully fulfilled the certification requirements and were awarded certificates upon completing both the practical test and viva voce examination.
According to feedback collected from participants, the course proved to be a valuable learning experience. Students reported that the program enabled them to acquire both practical skills and theoretical knowledge crucial for building careers in accounting and business management.
The course was strategically designed to enhance employability prospects in the accounting and finance sector by providing practical exposure to real-world business transaction processing. The department emphasized that such add-on certification programs play a vital role in preparing students for the competitive job market by equipping them with skills that are immediately applicable in professional settings.
