An innovative Real-Time E-Trading Competition was held on September 18, 2025, offering students a unique opportunity to bridge classroom theory with practical financial market experience through simulated trading scenarios.
The competition, themed “Bridging Theory with Practice: Empowering Students through Real-Time Trading Experience,” was designed to enhance participants’ financial literacy and analytical capabilities in a controlled, risk-free environment.
Mr. Dawa Norbu, a lecturer at the institution, led an introductory session that laid the groundwork for the day’s activities. His presentation covered fundamental trading concepts, demonstrated essential decision-making tools, and provided live trading demonstrations that prepared students for the competitive rounds ahead.
Practical Learning in Action
The event’s primary focus was to equip students with practical skills that extend beyond traditional classroom instruction. Participants engaged with a simulated trading platform that mimicked real-world market conditions, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge while developing critical thinking and analytical abilities.
According to organizers, the competition successfully provided students with hands-on experience in navigating stock markets, understanding trading strategies, and making informed financial decisions—all without the risks associated with actual monetary investments.
To incentivize participation and reward outstanding performance, cash prizes were awarded to the top two finishers. The competition represents part of a broader effort to prepare students for active participation in financial markets through experiential learning opportunities.
