On 16th May, once again Science and Dharma met at the Institute. Dr. Gaëlle Desbordes (Instructor in Radiology, Harvard Medical School, Assistant in Neuroscience, Massachusetts General Hospital Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School, Boston, Center for Computational Neuroscience and Neural Technology, Boston University, Boston, MA, USA ) as a visiting scholar gave an interactive presentation on, “Compassion meditation training: effects on the brain and the body’s stress response”. Apart from her formal presentation on Cognitive Based Compassion Training (CBCT) she also presented results of scientific lab research of meditation. Her talk gave a great insight into scientific objective study.This provoked many questions and made her presentation both interactive as well as thoroughly professional.
