November 1&2 – Dr. Ceon Ramon talks on Neuro-Science and the Nature of Mind:
We were honoured to have Dr. Ceon Ramon on campus at the beginning of November. He gave two sessions in the afternoons of November 1 & 2 respectively on ‘Neuro-science and Nature of Mind. His talks were exceptionally well received as they were tuned to the questions from the audiences.

Dr. Pema Yangchen’s volunteer input
Dr. Pema Yangchen has been volunteering here since September, 2016 . After giving a two-week in-service workshop here, she was at TCV school, Choglamsar, Leh, Ladakh, where she gave another two week’s work shop for the high school teachers. After her return from this program, she started another very special program here starting from October 27, 2016. Currently, Dr, Pema Yangchen is teaching Basic English Language for Faculty with no formal background in English. The teachers are grateful for this rare opportunity. Then she is at office like a regular faculty helping with examination related work and assisting the principal with the hectic work of accreditation. The Institute is grateful for all her care and input.

Expert Committee from the University of Mysore arrive for inspection in connection with recognition of Research Centre for offering Ph.D. Programs.
Apart from being a Teaching Institute with its five UG programs, the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education offer research opportunities and become a Research Centre too. In this connection, the Institute applied for recognition of its Research Centre for offering Ph.D. programs in Tibetan studies. An Expert Committee comprising of three senior Professors from the University of Mysore under the Chairmanship of Prof. Yashwanth Dongre, Deans, Faculty of Commerce, University of Mysore accompanied by Prof.P. Nagabushan, DOS in computer Science, Mysore University and Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi, Director of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Board visited the institute on November 26, 201 6 to assess the feasibility of research infrastructure facilities available in the Institute. The Principal gave a PPT on the Institute’s preparedness relating to Research programs, faculty and infrastructure. The Expert Team did a physical inspection the Research Centre, its library, computer facilities, and auditorium.
