A Visit to National Institute of Fashion Technology
On 7th March, 2016, a small exposure trip was prepared under the supervision of Dr. Pushkal Pandey to visit the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). There were 20 volunteer participants. The journey started after the academic hours in the afternoon. All the participants visited the campus and interacted with the other college students. It was a very good exposure.
Essay Competition
On Wednesday, 9th March, an essay competition in three different languages; Tibetan, English and Chinese, was held at the institute’s catering center under the guidance of Student Council. It was organized to commemorate the 57th anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day. In total, 11 students took part in this initiative.
57th Tibetan National Uprising Day: Commemoration Activities
This March 10th marked the 57th National Uprising Day of Tibet. To commemorate this fateful day, students and staff members of the institute took part in various activities.
Four students took part in the cycle rally that was organized by the Regional Youth Congress, Bangalore city. Those participants wore black attires to mourn the lost lives of Tibetan heroes. They biked from the institute till Bangalore city covering a distance of about 35 kms.
Some students and staff members went to attend the commemoration function and participated in the peaceful protest against the illegal occupation of Tibet by China.
At 7.30 p.m. in the evening, there was a poetry recitation in Tibetan organized by two volunteer students of Tibetan Department. Eight students recited poems of nationalism and patriotism composed by famous Tibetan poets in the aftermath of 2008 uprisings in Tibet. It was a poignant night that filled the hearts of everyone with sadness and courage at the same time.
