‘MAP OF MIND’ teaching by Geshe Dorjee Damdul

Geshe_Dordum_teaching_hallGeshe Dorji Damdul, the Director of Tibet House, Cultural Center of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, was at the Institute on September 4, 5, 8 and 9 as the Resource Expert for August. His two morning sessions of three hours each on “Wisdom of Emptiness and its Benefits” were attended by all students and staff members at the institute. The three afternoon sessions on “Map of the mind for mental transformation” pertaining to ‘Secular Ethics’ were for those signed up for it. About 180 students attended each of these sessions. During each session, Geshe la taught for about two hours with follow-up question and answer sessions. Geshe la presented ‘traditional content’ in modern lecture style with the use of power points. Geshe Dorji Damdul completed his Geshe Lharampa Degree (Ph.D.) from Drepung Loseling Monastic University. He served as the official interpreter to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for several years. In March 2011 he was appointed as the Director of Tibet House, Cultural Center of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, where he has been giving extensive teachings on Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, psychology and logic. He has translated several texts on philosophy from Tibetan into English.Geshe_Dordum_teaching_library He was also assigned, along with a few other scholars, to work on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s book “Ethics for the New Millennium – Part II”, as well as on the “Art of Happiness” book series. He has been actively involved in critical editing works of other books by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, such as “The Graded Path.”
He is currently in the process of writing two important books, one entitled “Journey into the Paradox of Brain and Mind” and the other “What Constitutes the Ultimate Reality: The Effects of Understanding the Ultimate Reality.”
