The Department of Tibetan Studies hosted a Scholars Lecture Series on September 24, 2024. Invited speakers included Prof. Jampa Sampten, who discussed the historical significance of Genden Phordang’s “Tse-shu-De-Ki,” tracing its importance from the 5th Dalai Lama to the present exile government in India. Prof. Lobsang Dorjee Rabling covered the historical importance of translation from the 8th century and shared insights on the translation work done by him and his colleagues at the Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies. Prof. Penpa Dorjee provided a brief introduction to modern research methodology.
The event was presided over by Dr. Tenzin Pasnag, Principal of DLIHE, who presented the guest speakers with mementos and delivered a thank-you speech. Approximately 100 students and faculty members from both the Tibetan Department and regular studies participated in this enriching event.
