The Dalai Lama Institute is 5 years old. On February 16, 2014, the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education celebrated its 5th Founding Anniversary since its formal inauguration by His Holiness in February, 2009. The Day began with prayer and traditional Sangsol by all staff and students of the Institute. This was followed by a simple Formal Function in the Institute Hall. The Vice Principal gave the introductory address followed by staff and student representatives respectively.  It concluded with Cultural performances.

The other highlights of the day include a mini Fete organized by the Student Council and the Tibetan Department students running a Food Court. Thus the Day was celebrated with a mix of traditional sobriety and modern fun fair.
