AUGUST EVENTS ( 4th Week)

This semester, the Institute introduced about 15 Clubs. Every student is required to join a club. Each club has one or two Mentors. The First Club meeting with the mentors was held about a week ago and each chalked out action plans as per it objectives. This week high light some of first few activities.

Club Activities:
Monday, August 22
Honey Bee Day: was celebrated by the Healthy and Sustainable Life Style Club with Chart displays and Free Distribution of Ginger, honey lemon tea f to all student and faculty to promote awareness of practical utility of Honey in daily life.

Wednesday, August 24
The Spiritual Club presented a Talk on ‘Meditation.’ to bring Awareness of the benefits of Meditation in everyday life.

Friday, August 26
The Games Club organized the First Women’s Football Tournament. It was played between the Fresher’s team and the Senior Ladies team. Of course! the juniors out did the seniors This was followed by the Men’s Inter-Departmental Football Finals. B. Com United team won the match and the cash prize

OTHER EVETS
Saturday, August 27 It was a busy day !!!!!!
The Institute was honored by a visiting Scholar for Political Science of an extra ordinary caliber, Prof. Manivannan R. Head of Department for Politics & Public Administration, Madras University. He lectured on, “Foundations of Research Methodology,” for BA students from 8:00 am to 10: 00 am. And second session on ‘Refugee Crisis – Theory & Practice,’ (With special reference to status of Tibetan refugee) for all students and faculty. It was a most inspiring talk. WE LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING HIM AGAIN.

Selection of Institute Basketball Teams
Student Council did the selection of basketball teams for both genders on Saturday as preparation for the upcoming “Rangzen Rolling” events in Chennai. Out of 10 girls and 11 boys who participated in this selection , 7 girls and 8 boy s made it as team members.

Workshop Experience
On Saturday, after dinner, all the staff members and students gathered at the Catering Centre for the presentations by Dhoundup Phuntsok and Sonam Gawa. These men attended a Youth Conference conducted at Sahara Institution in Dharamsala. The Student Council organized this event.
