The DLIHE has been blessed with a visit by Geshe Lhakdor, eminent scholar of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and Director of Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA) in Dharamshala.
On the first day, Geshe la gave a brief introduction to the four commitments of His Holiness and the importance of practicing compassion by sharing various anecdotes. This was followed by a brief question-answer session where both the faculties and students actively participated and raised their queries and concerns.
On the second day, Geshe la addressed the institute on the fourth commitment of His Holiness: the Revival of Indian Wisdom and Knowledge. The talk and Q&A session focused on mindfulness in everyday life, secular ethics, and the usefulness of meditation. Geshe la met with the staff in the afternoon in a discussion of Buddhist psychology and its wisdom.
