On August 31, 2024, the BA department organized a notable field visit for psychology students to Kshema, a psychosocial rehabilitation center in Bangalore. The visit commenced with an assembly and orientation, including a tour of the center’s facilities. Students then engaged in one-on-one interactions with residents to gain insight into their daily lives and experiences, fostering empathy. This was followed by a dance therapy session featuring Tibetan circle dance and Hindi or Kannada dance, which promoted social interaction and resident well-being. A Q&A session on mental health practices and challenges provided valuable insights. The visit concluded with tea and snacks, allowing for informal discussions. Overall, the experience significantly enhanced students’ understanding of mental health care through direct engagement and practical application.
