Mr Dawa Tsering joined the DLIHE in 2013 and served as Commerce HoD from 2015 to 2018.  Dawa currently holds the post of Vice-Principal. He also teaches the core papers of B. Com. and B.B.A. courses, has over 20 years of teaching experience.

Prior to joining DLIHE, he was HoD for Commerce at TCV Bylakupee in Mysore where he also taught Business Studies and Accountancy. In Bylakuppe, Dawa served as housemaster, took charge of committees overseeing English elocution, debate, substance abuse prevention and also served as Chief Centre Superintendent for the CBSE Board examinations.

Dawa is a Master of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration (M. Com. & M.B.A). and an alumnus of both the Madras Christian College and Loyola College in Chennai. Dawa has completed PGD Business Law and is currently pursuing a Master in Business Law, (M.B.L) at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru.

The TCV Executive Council meeting held on December 16, 2019 decided to appoint Dr.Tenzin Ghegay on the Vice Principal for Specialized Studies at the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Studies, Bangalore.

Dr.Tenzin Ghegay joined the DLIHE in February, 2020 and currently holds the post of Vice-Principal for Specialized Studies program. He also teaches the Tibetan Language and Literature papers of M.A. Tibetan Specialized courses and supervise the Library for enhancement of library management and collection development.

Before joining DLIHE, he was an In-Charge of Tibetan Section, Shantarakshita Library CIHTS where he provided special service to the Professors, Assistant Professors, Researchers, Ph.D. scholars, students, and general outside researchers.

He taught Tibetan Language & Literature and Tibetan History in different levels of teaching capacity in Central Institute of Higher Tibetan studies (CIHTS, Centre for Teacher Education(CTE) and other institution as following;

  1. Guest Lecturer in CTE; taught Tibetan History and Classical Tibetan language and literature, for B.A. B.Ed. 2nd year and B.Ed. 1st year for one semester in 2019
  2. Taught Classical Tibetan language and literature to the under graduate students in the Institute for one semester, in 2018, CIHTS
  3. Assistant Professor in the department of Centre for Teacher’s Education in Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, 2017-2018 CIHTS, taught Classical Tibetan language & literature and Tibetan History to the B.Ed. (Teacher’s training program) and B.A.B. Ed. graduate level teacher training program.
  4. Taught Classical Tibetan language and literature, for the graduate (Shastri) 3rd (B.A. 3rd Year) Fine Arts class for one academic session 2016-2017, CIHTS
  5. Guest Lecturer: Taught Classical Tibetan language to the foreigners and English for the adult monks at Sarnath International Nyingma Institute 2014-2016 and in 2019.
  6. Teacher and Editor-Taught Tibetan and English for 6 months in Nyindrak Drodulling to monks and did work for collected works of Terchen Nyima Dakpa in Nepal in 2008.

Mr. Shakgang Pasang Tsering has earned the Acharya degree from The Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi. He worked as a former Tibetan language teacher (TGT, PGT) in TCV Ladakh and TCV Bylakuppee. He joined DLIHE since 2010 and has been teaching Tibetan language and “Democracy and Charter of Central Tibetan Administration” to undergraduate courses. He has been working as the editor of the Tibetan section of the Institute’s Official Facebook page. He is one of the recipients of the “20 years of service award” of TCV head office.
